- Stephen Thomas, Director and Head of School ALUMNI NEWS OS1 Lenora Ditzler is in India traveling in Dharamsala, enjoying time with the Tibetans. She also hopes to go to Nepal and will be adventuring through May, if not longer. Nick Ray is married with a 2 year-old son and a jewelry design business on Nantucket Island, MA OS2 Matt Santos' music career is definitely ON! and he was mentioned in Rolling Stone magazine for his work with Lupe Fiasco. OS4 Case Conover continues as this year's Oxbow Intern (he is battle tested now!). Emily Grau helped out with the Butterfield/Buck event in San Francisco, and is sacrificing her body/mind to science at UC Davis. Caroline Woolard has been working as a Junior Research Scholar for Natalie Jeremijenko at NYU where she developed prototypes for her Subway Swing with Stefan Sagmeister for a book he is designing; spent the summer as a fellow at the Ox-Bow residency (run through the Art Institute of Chicago) in MI, where she began collaborating with artist, Elizabeth Tubergen; participated in Conflux NY, Un.Occupied Spaces in Montreal, and Come Sit With Us Because We Miss You at SolarOne in NY. Emily Proud (pictured above) will graduate from UCLA this spring. Over the summer she was in various towns of Umbria, Italy painting with a UC Davis group. She spent the fall semester at the American University of Paris learning French. Last spring Emily had her first independent Art Show in the UCLA undergraduate gallery, a series of figurative watercolors. OS9 Rose Thomas is living in Brooklyn working in the rag trade and dreaming of travel. Cody Sai is also working in fashion and living in NYC. Lillian Myers has reluctantly returned from New Zealand. Sylvie Calierno is on an extended tour of South America, mainly Argentina to work on her Spanish. There are rumors that Georgia Carter is still at Califonria College of the Arts (CCA). OS10 Ingrid Burrington mutters about a year abroad but is still in Baltimore at Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA). Sam Keller is attending Rhode Island School of Design. OS11 Marilyn Beck is in Portland at art school. Alex (Z) Groshong in art school at MICA. OS12 Lauryn Hill and Yennika Ekstrand were spotted at CCA where they are being in art school. OS16 Michelle Check's final project film Other Worlds was screened at the Tower of Youth Film Festival, October 2007. Peter Linden will be attending Pratt Institute this fall on a Presidential Merit Scholarship. OS17 Natalie Ebaugh's Figuring the Body project won the gold key award in the Scholastic Art and Writing competition. The Annual Fund supports the program beyond the limits of tuition revenue and allows us to provide our students with authentic exposure to artistic problem solving and intellectual inquiry. Program elements such as the Visiting Artists residency, studio and museum visits, and a nutritious, organic meal plan, help to grow each student's awareness of the possibilities in their lives.

OS17 ended on a high note, and on the Sunday of the Final Show weekend, we added a new element for the ‘fashionistas’ in the Oxbow family: a benefit sale by Christina Kim’s DOSA fashion line brought new people to the school and raised $14,000 for Oxbow. exciting recruiting season in the Oxbow Admissions Office. Our Admissions
Associates spend much of their time out on the road, telling students
about Oxbow's unique program. This school year, Megan Malone traveled
to Seattle, Portland, Albuquerque, Santa Fe, Los Angeles, and to
many schools around the Bay Area. Jordan Felling ventured to Chicago,
Minneapolis/St. Paul, Milwaukee, Vermont, Philadelphia, Baltimore,
