Maya Alter

Maya Alter

Residential Life + Culinary Intern

Maya Alter (she/her) is an OS36 alumna and is our new culinary intern on campus! She previously studied at UCLA and is now taking classes at city college. Having always been drawn to arts, whether it be film, cartooning, painting, or animation, Maya identifies as a creative and is looking to pursue a studio arts practice in tandem with child developmental psychology. Growing up in the East Bay, she has developed a deep passion for queer culture, social justice, and arts. Outside of Oxbow, she works mainly in child care both privately and at summer camps, and most recently taught studio art (and juggling!) at Camp Winnarainbow. She also participated in an all girls film camp for five years before branching off with some of her peers to create their own films independently. Maya is excited to work alongside the cooks and faculty starting this Fall!
