Melody joined the Oxbow faculty as the New Media teacher in 2021. Previously based in Los Angeles, her experience and embodied skillsets include animation, fabrication, theatrical performance and arts education. Exploring both the practical and the conceptual, Melody takes special interest in the relationship between "tech" and traditional media as well as its dissolution. She also collaborates with Oxbow’s Painting teacher to explore and play with these relationships across historical and current cultural shifts. Melody has earned a BM in Cello Performance from Rice University in 2005 and an MFA from the California Institute of the Arts in Experimental in Animation in 2014.
