Inside Oxbow

Thank you, Oxbow Summer Art Camp 2018!

08/01/18

When campers were not working on their projects in studios, they took part in the camp-wide talent show, challenged each other in capture the flag, and learned about contemporary artists in preparation for inspiration and guidance in their final projects.

The Final Show of our second session was held on Sunday afternoon, and campus was once again buzzing with art appreciators, friends, and family alike. Project highlights included hyper-realistic deer antlers made of paper maché, customized color palettes based off of a personality quiz, and an animation about a princess who fights a dragon. Follow our social media outlets to stay updated when the Final Projects gallery of our second session is posted for viewing. Check us out on both Facebook (www.facebook.com/oxbowschool) and Instagram (www.instagram.com/theoxbowschool).

The 38 campers comprising camp's second session shared sweet and tearful moments as they packed up to bid Oxbow goodbye (for now).
As a staff, we’ve loved getting to know the 70+ young artists who have spent the summer with us. Whether campers performed songs at the talent show, complimented their peers during morning announcements, or took on challenging topics for their final project, our students have continuously impressed us with their willingness to take risks. As the summer comes to a close, we want to express our utmost gratitude to those who helped make the Oxbow Summer Camp community one that champions inclusivity, collaboration, exploration, and boldness.
