SFMOMA Takeover

09/25/16

OS35 had a fantastic day at the SFMOMA last week, exploring their stunning new building and near unbelievable collection. The architecture alone is a fascinating reason for a visit. I think it's safe to say we all got hefty doses of art awe as well as exhaustion and also took turns getting lost (figuratively and actually). Last week's Spread the Love cooked up a great challenge - recreate some art, using your body as the medium! It was great to wander around the many corners of the museum and witness students going the extra mile to get a detail just right. Definitely more entertaining than your usual museum visit!

Destiny provided a short write up and photographs:

OS35 went to the SF MOMA Thursday, where we had a lot of fun observing and discovering the work of modern day artists. I was so excited to find Eve Hesse’s work. I had a blast doing the Spread the Love challenge where we had to pose to replicate different paintings; extra points if we included a stranger or security guard. We also got to explore the city around the museum during our lunchbreak - some students popped into the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts to see Tom Sachs' show.

Thanks to everyone for the additional photos! (Audrey, Penny, AJ, Pattiann, Simone, Davide, Rachel, Maria, Joanna, Christina, Maceo, Kelly...and more)
