Call for Alumni Art!

Remember how much the community enjoyed seeing the results of your semester at your Final Show? This year we would like to showcase ALUMNI ART during our final show weekend as well!

This spring, for the first time ever, Oxbow is hosting its annual fundraiser the evening of OS36's Final Show on Saturday, May 13th, 2017. What could be better than checking out student art by day, and then venturing over to The CIA at Copia nearby for Oxbow's Benefit Concert where we will display and sell ALUMNI ART!

If you are interested in participating, here are the details:

1) This will be a curated show. We are limited to how many pieces we can display. Ideally, you would be able to attend and talk about your work on display, though if you cannot attend we will still consider your piece(s). This will be a fantastic, well-attended event, and will include an exclusive live performance by the legendary Boz Scaggs. If your art is selected as part of the exhibition, we will take care of your concert ticket.

2) Please submit your work (any medium) by emailing .jpeg files to jason@oxbowschool.org with the following information:

- FULL NAME
- OS__
- TITLE
- MEDIUM
- SIZE
- PRICE

Name the price you'd like to sell your art for! We simply ask that 20% of the sale price be donated to The Oxbow School scholarship fund. Please feel free to submit multiple pieces. We will continue accepting work through April 10th. After April 10th, submissions will be closed and we will email to notify you if we've selected your work.

3) Oxbow will cover shipping for pieces up to 11"x14"x2" framed. If you plan to submit something larger, you will need to arrange for your own shipping.

I have learned so many skills and habits that have made me a better person throughout my time here. To name a few: I have learned how to be a good roommate, how to communicate, and how to trust myself. I have learned the importance of staying hydrated, getting good sleep, and having a clean work space. I have learned how to share space both in the studios and dorms. Lastly, I have learned that it’s okay to advocate for what you need and that there is no harm in asking for help or support.
