Jo Rosenthal is a member of the New York art collective 8-Ball. Her fifth zine ODE TO THOSE I'VE KISSED was selected to be part of the beloved subway Newsstand exhibit which has recently moved to the New Photographer exhibit at MOMA.

Jo received a mention in the article 17 Artists, Presses, and Publisher to Know at the NY Art Book Fair by Kate Messinger on The Creators Project blog "zines of note include 8-Ball's artist boxed sets and Jo Rosental's Ode to Those I've Kissed."

"The Creators Project is a global celebration of creativity, arts and technology. Launched in 2009 with Intel as founding partner, the platform features the works of visionary artists across multiple disciplines who are using technology to push the boundaries of creative expression."

Oxbow gave Will a voice and a community. Under the nurturing attention of his wonderful teachers, he learned that he had the intellectual capability to express himself and that his unique point of view was, in fact, an asset.

The art that goes on in most high schools is usually relatively skill-based. At Oxbow, there is more emphasis on looking and seeing and more critical thinking about what you are doing, the human connection, that personal element. Through art you can begin to understand yourself better. That may be the biggest eye-opener for students. It is almost a preview of college. Get out of the mechanical factory high school education and get into something open, new, and invigorating in a small environment.
