Oxbow Students Rally for Climate Change

Napa students rallied for climate change action on March 15. The event was featured in the Napa Register article Climate Matters: Youth Speak out on Climate Change by reporter Chris Benz in the April 7, 2019 issue.

"Shira Sadeh, 17, and Bailey Thompson, 18, both students at the Oxbow School, were the principal organizers of Napa’s student rally. They learned about climate change through Oxbow’s Environmental Science class taught by Alex Keilty.

“We were interested in participating in the Youth Strike, but there was no local event. We’re both interested in social change so we decided to hold a rally in Napa.” Read full article

Artistically, I learned a lot of new techniques and mediums while here. I had access to much more than before and I made the most of it. I tried everything I could and always talked to my teachers and peers about new ways I could make art. Every so often, I completely stepped out of my comfort zone. Experimenting with technique and testing my artistic boundaries has helped me realize how many paths I have to choose from in the art world and that makes me excited for the future.
