NOW HIRING: Summer 2024 Oxbow Teaching & Residential Life Fellow

STIPEND: $3,500 + housing and meals

The Oxbow School seeks to hire a dynamic, collaborative, forward-thinking Teaching & Residential Life Fellow. The Oxbow School welcomes lifelong learners. Prospective colleagues should embrace working with administrative staff and students who possess a range of abilities, talents and learning styles.

THE OXBOW SCHOOL. The Oxbow School is a one-semester visual arts program for sophomores, juniors, seniors, and gap semester students from public and independent high schools nationwide. The school offers forty-two students a unique educational experience focused on the in-depth study and practice of the visual arts. The Oxbow Summer Art Institute encourages motivated students to pursue a serious interest in art. Through work in the studio/classroom, trips to art venues, and lectures with Visiting Artists, Oxbow provides students with direct exposure to the richness and diversity of contemporary art. Our goal is not to produce career artists, but to empower students to see with clarity and become active participants in the world. The Oxbow School is founded on the belief that engagement with the arts fosters and supports flexible thinking skills that are particularly valuable in today's increasingly complex global community.

The Teaching/Residential Life Fellow is a 6-week position in Summer 2024 for a recent college graduate interested in working with adolescents in a residential environment. The main responsibilities lie in general student supervision and the residential life experience on campus. Fellows have the opportunity to either design and teach their own short electives courses or alternatively assist in an existing elective course. The Fellow will live in an apartment adjacent to the dorms to assist in organizing community activities and being an additional adult presence on campus for student life issues that may arise. The person who best fits this role is someone who is mature, has strong interpersonal skills, is genuinely invested in the welfare of adolescents, and possesses an infectious enthusiasm for The Oxbow School program.
