Susan Lynn Smith

Susan has exhibited her photographs at the Visual Studies Workshop, Gulf and Western Gallery, International Center of Photography, Cantor Film Center, Fort Mason Center, Root Division, San Francisco City Hall, MarinMOCA, Cordon|Potts Gallery, Diego Rivera Gallery, RayKo Photo Center, Inclusions Gallery, The Bascom, Berkeley Art Center, and Upstream Gallery. Her work is part of the collections at the Museum of Fine Arts in Houston, TX, the Pilara Foundation in San Francisco, CA, and of private individuals. Susan has been an artist-in-residence at Virginia Center for the Creative Arts, Penland School of Craft, The Hambidge Center, Vyt - Art Students League of New York, The Rensing Center, and the Lillian E. Susan was raised in the Greater Boston Area and currently resides in Massachusetts and California. Smith has taught with Putney Student Travel’s Excel programs, Academy of Art University, and Good For Kids Foundation, for which she also served as program manager. In 2010, she co-founded Green Art Workshop, a San Francisco based nonprofit (est. 2012) for which she acted as co-director and lead facilitator of through 2019. Most recently, Susan founded Second Nature Arts, which aims to ignite creativity that fosters mindful connections with art, nature, and community. Since 2008, Susan has been staff at The Oxbow School, for which she served as faculty for Oxbow Summer Art Camp before taking on the directorial role in 2011.
